Birthday Sync

Privacy Policy

Applies to all versions of the Android app Birthday Sync. Last updated: October 28, 2026.

In short: Birthday Sync has no internet access. It does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. It reads your contacts and writes birthday events into your calendar – only on your device.

No data collection

Birthday Sync contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no advertising, no third-party tracking libraries and no user accounts. The developer receives no information about you, your contacts or how you use the app.

No network connections

The app does not request Android’s internet permission and therefore cannot connect to the internet – there is no update check and nothing is uploaded. Tapping Privacy or Source code in the app opens this website or the source code on GitHub in your web browser; that connection is made by your browser, not by Birthday Sync (see “This website” below).

What the app reads and writes on your device

Calendar sync and device backup

If you choose a calendar that belongs to an online account (for example your Google calendar), your calendar provider synchronises the birthday events like any other event you create – under that provider’s privacy policy. Birthday Sync itself transmits nothing. If Android’s device backup is turned on, Android may include the app’s settings in that backup; this is controlled by your device and backup settings, not by Birthday Sync.

Sharing and deletion

Birthday Sync shares no data with the developer or any third party. Uninstalling the app deletes its settings. The birthday events stay in your calendar; to delete them, use Calendar → Remove events in the app before uninstalling, or delete them in your calendar app.
